This session will provide an update on DHIS2's integration with FHIR, focusing on tools and practices that improve metadata conformance and real world interoperability.
We will begin with a walkthrough of the DHIS2 FHIR Implementation Guide (IG) Generator app, which allows users to generate lightweight FHIR IGs directly from DHIS2 Tracker metadata. Real-world examples from HISP Tanzania will highlight recurring challenges and lessons learned. We will also explore UI tools that support FHIR-to-FHIR mapping and examine common integration pain points when mapping tracker metadata with FHIR profiles.
The session will conclude with a look at current priorities and roadmap items, such as tooling improvement and support, reference gateways, and support for open-source mapping solutions.
