With the DHIS2 Climate App, Ministries of Health (MOHs) can gain unprecedented access to climate data alongside health data in DHIS2. This helps health planners to mitigate the impact of climate change and extreme weather – like heatwaves, heavy rain/flooding, or droughts – on health outcomes.
This means they can prepare faster, act smarter, and protect more people. Instead of just reacting to outbreaks and emergencies, they can forecast risk, plan better, and save lives – especially from diseases that are sensitive to weather, like malaria, cholera, or heat-related illnesses.
This session is an opportunity to explore real-world lessons from piloting the Climate App and to shape how it can best support Ministries of Health and national health programmes in the future.
